5th Forum Carpaticum, 2018: Large Carnivores Session

During the Forum Carpaticum 2018, the Secretariat of the Carpathian Convention and the International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation organized together a session on Large Carnivores, which took place on 15 October 2018 in Eger, Hungary. The Session consisted of two interlined parts, the Workshop  - Towards the standardization of monitoring procedures for large carnivore’s populations in the Carpathian and the  presentation of Case Studies On Large Carnivores Management.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

During the workshop, participants from all the Carpathian countries presented various monitoring procedures and experiences in this field. This was followed by a discussion on possibilities of enhanced harmonisation, standardisation, and stakeholder involvement in monitoring and transboundary coordination.


Afterwards, various case studies on large carnivores management were presented.

The Large Carnivores Session was organized in the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the signed in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, the Czech Republic on 19 October 2016.
