Activities of the WG Cultural Heritage awarded of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 logo

The European Parliament and the Council has declared 2018 as the European Year of Cultural Heritage (EYCH2018).

The overall objective of the European Year is to encourage sharing and appreciation of the Europe’s rich cultural heritage, to raise awareness of the common history and values, and to reinforce a sense of belonging in a common European space.

The European Year aims at promoting the efforts of the European Union, the member states, regional and local authorities, the cultural heritage sector and the civil society in protection, preservation, development and promotion of European cultural heritage.  

The Carpathian Convention and its Working Group on Cultural Heritage and Traditional Knowledge, meeting the general objectives of the European Year, has enjoyed the opportunity to promote its cultural heritage activities in 2018, including the Fifth meeting of the Working Group, with the logo of the EYCH2018, at the same time stressing the importance of preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage at the Carpathian and the European level.
