6th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention to be held online!

Recently, the Bureau of the Conference of the Parties to the Carpathian Convention has decided on moving the 6th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention, that was originally scheduled on 14-16 of September 2020 in Rzeszow, Poland, to the online format due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the related implications.


The virtual COP6 meeting, being kept at the technical level, will be still held this year, however in the late autumn. The exact date of COP6 meeting will be communicated at the earliest convenience.


The decision by CC COP Bureau to change the format of the COP6 to the virtual meeting, was made based on the kind proposal by Poland, the host of the COP6 and the incoming Presidency of the Carpathian Convention, bearing in mind the uncertainties related to the COVID-19 situation, including the related travel restriction and safety of the conference participants.


In addition, Poland proposed to host a Ministerial Conference of the Carpathian Convention in Rzeszow, Poland in 2021 that would allow for a physical meeting of the Carpathian community and political debate on important global and regional topics that are relevant for the Carpathians.
