International Course on River and Wetland Restoration

We are pleased to announce the 6th edition of the International Course on River and Wetland Restoration. Organised by the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic, Carpathian Wetland Initiative and the partners, this hands-on course brings together experts, scientists, project managers, and other stakeholders who are involved in wetland and river wetland restoration. 

Programme:

The programme includes a thematic study tour to the sites with river and wetland restoration projects implemented within the Elbe River Basin. Participants will have the opportunity to see successful projects in situ and discuss phases of the project preparation and implementation as well as evaluation and suitable financial resources. The course participants will also have an opportunity to present in brief wetland restoration projects they are involved in.

🧭 Main topics of the course will be as follows:

– Wetland restoration (goals, measures and techniques, monitoring and evaluation)

– Experience with project planning and implementation

– Public awareness and public involvement

👥 Target Audience
This course is designed for experts, scientists, biologists, project managers, project designers, technicians, foresters, farmers, those who are involved in wetland and especially river wetlands restoration, as well as the personnel employed in state administration responsible for protection of nature, environment and sustainable use of natural resources associated with wetlands and shallow water bodies, and other relevant stakeholders.

💰 Finances
Covered by organisers: meals, refreshments, and field trips

Participant contribution: accommodation costs (€350), and own travel to/from the Czech Republic
Accommodation will be arranged and booked by the organisers.
