16th Meeting of Carpathian Convention Implementation Committee, Belgrade, Serbia

The 16th Meeting of the Carpathian Convention Implementation Committee (CCIC) took place on 2–3 December 2025 in Belgrade, Serbia, marking an important milestone in advancing the effective implementation of the Carpathian Convention and its long-term objectives.
The meeting was honored by the presence of H.E. Ms. Sara Pavkov, Minister of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia, who delivered inspiring opening remarks. Minister Pavkov emphasized the essential role of the Carpathian Convention in safeguarding the health and resilience of Carpathian ecosystems and reaffirmed the significance of Serbia’s continued leadership as Presiding Party since COP7.
A dedicated group of National Focal Points and observers convened to:
Review the Progress Report on the implementation of the Carpathian Convention
Discuss advancements across thematic work areas
Provide strategic recommendations for priority activities to be undertaken before the next Conference of the Parties
Looking ahead, the next Conference of the Parties (COP), to be hosted under the Ukrainian Presidency at the end of 2026, will build on the outcomes of this meeting—further strengthening regional cooperation and charting new directions for the protection and sustainable development of the Carpathians.
