Secretariat of the Carpathian Convention participates in the International Environmental Forum “Environment for Ukraine”
The Secretariat of the Carpathian Convention was pleased to participate in the International Environmental Forum “Environment for Ukraine”, held in Kyiv and online on 10 June 2026.
Secretariat of the Carpathian Convention and UNEP Vienna representatives took part in the Forum, contributing to the important discussions on Ukraine’s green recovery, biodiversity conservation, protected areas, and European integration.
Ukraine is an essential part of the Carpathian region and of the Carpathian Convention. The Ukrainian Carpathians are home to exceptional biodiversity, valuable protected areas, unique landscapes, and ecosystems that are vital not only for Ukraine, but for the ecological connectivity and resilience of the entire Carpathian region.
Strengthening protected areas, supporting biodiversity conservation, and advancing nature-positive recovery are key elements of Ukraine’s resilience and reconstruction.
The Secretariat sincerely thanks the Міністерство економіки, довкілля та сільського господарства України Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine for the kind invitation, continued cooperation, and strong commitment to environmental recovery and biodiversity conservation. The Secretariat remains committed to supporting Ukraine as an integral Party to the Carpathian Convention and to strengthening regional cooperation for a resilient, sustainable and biodiverse Carpathian region.
