Virtual Mountain Country Roundtable

The Virtual Mountain Country Roundtable will bring together representatives of mountain countries, partner organizations, and the CBD Secretariat to discuss the role of mountain biodiversity in achieving the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF) goals and targets.
Held ahead of SBSTTA 27 (Agenda Item 6(a)), the event offers a timely platform to exchange views on the CBD Programme of Work on Mountain Biological Diversity, explore how mountain ecosystems are integrated into national policies and strategies, and promote the upcoming high-level mountain side event at SBSTTA 27.
Expected outcomes include a better understanding of mountain countries’ positions on mountain biodiversity within the CBD process, strengthened participation in SBSTTA 27, and first steps toward a coordinated advocacy effort for the political recognition of mountains at CBD COP17.
